April showers bring May snow? (May 8)

Starry starry snowflakes – (midnight May 10)

It’s safer for the flowers to stay indoors on canvas….

I imagine snow is the last things you would be expecting now. Lovely photographs and beautiful paintings – are they your handiwork?

No they are my mother’s. I have no artistic talent. She started painting at the age of 87 when she gave up driving and was home more…..had her first exhibit at age 90 and has had two more since, with one scheduled for next fall, if it happens with all the Covid closures. She doesn’t like doing flowers though….

Joni – I like your mom’s paintings – yes, as cold as it is these past few days the flowers might be tugging on your arm and asking if they can go inside and warm up. I have to say I’ve never seen tulips with snow on them before!

It’s been a strange month. I saw a cartoon in the paper tonight, with the caption that said – The Year 2020 So Far – with a cartoon of a typical Canadian wearing a COVID mask, being attacked by Killer Hornets, and shoveling snow in MAY! Pretty much sums it up!

Yes, it’s been such a terrible year and that is funny but true. Carol, my friend in NY, posted a story today on some type of monster tick that is invading parts of New York. She does like to walk too and now this is a new fear for her. I read a story about AC harming you as it spreads contaminated air into your home via your A/C unit. Nice! Something else scary to worry about.

2020 is definitely proving to be an unpredictable year…at least the flowers are beautiful! (and I guess the snowfall is, too…in the right season!)

It was pretty Sunday night…it .reminded me of the last scene in the movie White Christmas. I stood outside on the porch at midnight and took some pictures.

Nice and cheery; sweet that you found a way to put a May snowfall in a positive light.
I always enjoy seeing your mom’s art work!

Thanks Annie! We had one nice sunny day yesterday and now rain forecast for the next week….but at least it’s rain!

Beautiful paintings. I also like the photo of the tulip with the snow on it because it seems timely. Nothing quite going as planned.

Yes, it’s been quite a year so far, snow in May, killer hornets and COVID….what next?

The snow at night is my favorite. There is something fascinating to me about snow in the sky.
