Hi Debbie….spring is on it’s way here….most of the snow has melted and rain and 45 F temps predicted for next week. Those mute swans were in the river. I’ve never seen them there before as I actually went to take pics of seagulls.
I did lighten the photo a bit but not much. There isn’t much ice in the river this year flowing down from the Great Lakes, as it’s been a relatively mild winter.
We’re fine here, any cases in Ontario are Toronto way and we’re 4 hours away, and all are confined to travel. I saw the Seattle nursing home story on the news and wondered how it got spread to a nursing home? Kind of scary.
I like your “swansong” post Joni. The blue water looks inviting. Despite the mute swan who stomped out of the water to go after me for taking his/his mate’s photo, I think they are beautiful creatures; when they splash down into the water from the sky, they are silent, unlike the Canada Geese who honk their heads off. I hope this is the swansong for Winter for banana belt inhabitants and me too!
That’s what I heard too Joni … you did not jinx us though as it will be 60 on Sunday. My car got the message again for having tire monitor system checked so I took it in this morning and picked it up around 6:00. So after I took it in, I thought “I’ve gone all Winter without having to drive in the snow – and if it’s not ready and I have to come home in any snow I’ll be mad!” We were supposed to have rain this afternoon – that didn’t happen either!
I’m going to try one more time at the Detroit River before the eagles disappear … the eagle shots I took look like a little brown blog. It will be sunny both days – we’ll both get out for long walks. We had rain this morning, then off and on but never got the predicted snow flurries.

Amazing colors in this photo. Seeing a glimpse of swans under a blue sky gives me hope that winter will soon be over.

Yes, but only in west Seattle area — Kirkland — and that confined mostly to a nursing home. How about your area, Joni?

Flurries or wet snow tonight, so it won’t stick around. Should be a good weekend for bird-watching.
